Sheriff Lee, Billy “Old Trust,” and Cole Ketchum lead five Jeeps through the Undertow to take possession of Northridge’s Ridge Holler bunker. The road tests their new crew with the shimmer, the Life Spring, and an attack by the Scaurii.

At Ridge Holler, hundreds of Nythrakar force the convoy to retreat. The Scaurii pursue them toward Brierie as their Jeeps break down and their shotgun shells run out. At Black Hollow Mine, Jason Harlow and Julie Whitaker raise an ancient shield—and the pursuing creatures stop.
