clancy metzger:
Clancy grew up in Oregon and Alaska, the latter of which affords her many interesting anecdotes, but she has lived all over the United States as well as visited several foreign countries (her favorite so far is New Zealand). She has two grown children, Ronnie and Max, and her first grandchild on the way. In addition to being an avid reader and movie addict, she loves to play board games, especially Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. Clancy has two hard earned degrees, a B.A. in English and an M.A. in ESL. She has always loved writing in all forms and her main aspiration now is to be a full time author so that she can work from home in her pajamas with her dog, Onyx, sitting on her feet. Clancy says, “In movie terms, I would be well pleased with my career if I had the popular success of Jerry Bruckheimer – but with books.”
beatrcie newman:
Beatrice Mendez Newman is Professor of English at a south Texas university where she teaches writing, children’s literature, English teacher preparation courses, and film studies. Her professional writing includes books and articles on teaching college writing and on preparing to teach English. In addition to her university teaching, she works extensively with local teachers in workshops and seminars. She lives a large stone’s throw from the U.S.-Mexico border. At the end of each day, winter or summer, she and her husband unwind by sitting in their patio, enjoying the Gulf breeze. The Newman household includes Beatrice, her husband Donald, and 11 cats who believe the house is theirs and the humans are mere tenants.
Teena Scholte:
Teena is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to Utah 30 years ago. Now a “Parkite”, she loves skiing in the winter with her family and spending time in North Carolina every chance she gets. Teena completed her B.S. in Business; and is currently completing her Masters in Professional Communications. Her favorite author is Patrick Conroy and favorite book is Beach Music. She loves singing, children and old people. She has a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, her dog Ranger and can really get into soulful blues and R&B, “The kind that makes you laugh and cry, but not at the same time.” She loves to travel and hopes that writing will transport her to those places she has yet to discover. “My idea of a perfect day is listening to the kids playing outside, my dog barking from all the excitement, music playing in the background, me with a coca-cola and unshelled peanuts in a brown paper bag, and a laptop with the first paragraph of a wonderful story about to unfold before me.”
